Hello, Janice,

Since no one has replied to your question, I'll take a shot.

The Adagio to which you refer is actually the third movement of
the Quintet for Clarinet and Strings, Op.  23, by Heinrich Baermann
(1784-1847).  See the Wikipedia article, which briefly mentions the
Adagio:
