I heard him in London a couple of years ago.  He played Betehoven Op.111
(a mistake), Schumann's Carnaval (good) and Rachmaninoff's Sonata No.2
(excellent).

There is a Telarc disc recorded live at Tanglewood: a Haydn Sonata, the
Rachmaninoff No.2 (again!), some shorter pieces I can't recall and, of
course, Balakirev's Islamey.

Interesting, but I'm not going to start collecting him on the basis of this
one disc.
