Is there a clearing house for free (public domain) sheet-music? I know
that there is some, and I forget whether it was this list that had that
information at one time.

In addition, it's possible to put sheet music (music scores is
the proper term, I suppose, but that seemed to imply ensemble music.
Piano music is hardly ever called music scores ...) in pdf form in two
different ways: (1) as bitmap images, and (2) vector graphics. Of these,
(2) is by far the clearer and more compact. However, it requires either
transcription by hand into a format such as Finale or Capella, or using
OCR software to convert the bitmaps into these formats, and then converting
those files into pdf format. Obviously vector format pdf files are far
superior.

Any information would be appreciated.
