Review coming after the Saturday premiere of "Doctor Atomic" on Opera
West (http://www.sandiego-online.com/opera/opera.shtml), but after
tonight's final dress rehearsal in the War Memorial, it is clear that
this is John Adams' finest work, by far, and that the first act, by
itself, is the single most powerful and memorable accomplishment in
all American opera.
