Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition - Kharkov,
Ukraine - August/September 2005 - May 1 Application Deadline

The Kharkov Philharmonic Society of Kharkov, Ukraine and Jeffrey James
Arts Consulting announce the fifth annual Vakhtang Jordania International
Conducting Competition.  To be held between August 28 and September 4,
2005 in the beautiful, historic city of Kharkov in northeastern Ukraine,
this competition will be open to conductors, regardless of age, sex or
nationality.  Entries will be screened by an international panel of
judges.  24 people will be selected to compete in the first round of the
competition.  Repertoire for the competition and other information is

Competition week also includes Master Classes and Seminars with Vakhtang
Jordania, jury members and competition staff.

Prizes include future concert engagements with the Kharkov Philharmonic,
Saratov Philharmonic (Russia), Daegu City Symphony (South Korea) Orquesta
Sinfonica UNCuyo (Mendoza, Argentina), University of Tennessee at
Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Youth
Orchestra (U.S.A.) and other orchestras to be announced.

Complete applications must be received by May 1, 2005.  All materials
must be submitted in one package.  No partial or email applications will
be accepted.  Decisions will be announced by June 15, 2005.

Contestants must submit entry form, a curriculum vitae, recent photo,
biographical sketch, repertoire list and a performance videotape or DVD
along with a non-refundable processing fee of $75 (U.S.  Funds- payable
to Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition) to:
