The New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony Presents February 8 Concert At New=
 York Historical Society - "From Four to Fourteen"

New York, NY - The New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony and its Music Direc=
tor Kenneth Klein have announced details of their upcoming concert "From
Four to Fourteen", celebrating music the master composers wrote in their
youth, on Sunday, February 8, 2004 - 3:00 PM at the New York Historical=
 Society, 2 West 77th St., just off of Central Park West and opposite the=
 Museum of Natural History. This concert is being presented in conjunctio=
n with the current New York Historical Society exhibition Children at Ris=
k: Protecting New York City's Youths, 1653-2002. This concert is dedicate=
d to the children of New York.

Kenneth Klein and The Virtuosi will present a program of music by great c=
omposers, written between the ages of four and fourteen. Selections will
be Mozart's Minuet in G for solo piano (written at age 4), Sonata for V=
iolin and Piano in D Major (written at age 7), Chopin's Polonaises' 1=
3 and 14 (written at age 7), Schubert's Quintet Overture (written at ag=
e 14), Mendelssohn's Sinfonia No. 2 in D (written at age 12), Richard S=
trauss' Piano Trio No. 2 in D Major (written at age 14), Benjamin Britt=
en's Simple Symphony (written between the ages of 9 and 12, and selecti=
ons by Rachmaninoff and contemporary American master Lukas Foss.

This concert will be hosted by Virtuosi Music Director Kenneth Klein. Spe=
cial guest and soloist for this concert will be 12-year old violinist Mic=
hael Mandrin, who will perform along with pianist Gerald Robbins and memb=
ers of the New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony.

Tickets for the February 8 concert are $20 general admission, $15 for stu=
dents and $12 for New York Historical Society Members. Tickets will be av=

New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony concerts are assisted, in part, by pub=
lic funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency and=
 private contributions.

The New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony presents world-class performances
of the chamber orchestra repertoire of the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st cent=
uries. The Virtuosi was founded in 1982 by its Music Director Kenneth Kle=
in. This 35-piece ensemble, composed of New York's finest players, has pe=
rformed at all the major halls in New York City, throughout the U.S. and
Germany and been praised by both critics and audiences for its innovative=
 programming. The group's current activities include an annual series of
concerts throughout the New York area and the presentation of a Student M=
entorship/In-school Performance and Instruction Program in 6 Long Island
