I have no idea of the Davis personality, but I think history will see
him as one of the "greats".  His Berlioz, Mozart, Haydn, and Sibelius
recordings are among the best, and he's no slouch when it comes to Mahler,
Saint-Saens, Humperdink, Schumann, Grieg, Schubert, Verdi, Dvorak, Bartok,
Beethoven, and Wagner.

Maybe he will be best remembered for recording Samson et Dalila two times
within a space of about ten years (only kidding).
