You could try to find out in Ethel Smyth's, Elizabeth Maconchy's or
Peggy Glanville-Hicks's operas, or better, ask Frangiz Ali-Zade, Karolina
Eiriksdottir, Hanna Kulenty, Meredith Monk, Inger Wikstrom or Judith Weir
what they have to tell about theirs:-)
