Music of Beth Anderson and Elodie Lauten to Be Performed By Flute Virtuoso
Andrew Bolotowsky on July 19 at New York Public Library

Music by American composers Beth Anderson and Elodie Lauten will be
presented by renowned flute virtuoso Andrew Bolotowsky on Wednesday,
July 19 - 6 PM at the New Amsterdam branch of New York Public Library,
9 Murray Street, west of Broadway near City Hall in Manhattan.

Mr. Bolotowsky will perform Ms. Anderson's Shakuhachi Run on bass
Baroque flute and Ms. Lauten's Orange for bass flute, along with works
from Baroque composers.  Shakuhachi Run was written for Mr. Bolotowsky
and Orange is transcribed from its original baroque flute format.

Beth Anderson's music has been described as having 'a refreshing simplicity
without naivete' and as -'deeply felt, direct, and yes, beautiful' and
'charming and deeply felt to the point of romanticism.' Her latest CDs
are Swales and Angels (New World Records) and Quilt Music (Albany Records).

Composer/keyboardist/producer Elodie Lauten (http://www.elodielauten.net)
has been described as a pioneer of post-minimalism, and a force on the
new music scene.  18 recordings of her music have been released on 10
labels.  Lauten has received several major awards and performances at
many major venues in New York and Paris, including the Lincoln Center
Festival, the New York City Opera, the Whitney Museum, The Kitchen, the
World Music Institute, the SEM Ensemble and the Paris Museum of Modern
Art.  Lauten's Symphony 2001, was premiered in February 2003 by the SEM
