That's true.  Many pop artists still have that kind of "dreams".  Mostly,
they don't know anything or very little about what "experimental" is in
XXth century classical music, but they like the tale (Stockhausen at
the cover of some wery well known pop album...).  Of course, there are
exceptions (not all of them are ignorants), but it's also true that,
according to some pop artists, "experimental" means, for example, clusters,
some ambiental noises, or even an 11th chord.  Cage (due to obvious
reasons) is a perfect candidate for guru among these people.
