Richard Pennycuick inquired of my random cd storage system:

>Don: You're driving home from work and you have an urge to hear,
>say, Brendel's version of the Schubert B Flat Sonata when you get
>home. How on earth do you know where it is?

When I'm driving home from work, my usual urge is to read the list postings
(that's politically correct).

When I have a "listening to music urge" I hardly ever think in terms of
listening to a particular work or recording. In the case of Schubert, my
urge would be to listen to Schubert piano music. And, it would be likely
that each of my storage drawers would have at least one Schubert solo piano
disc.

This "specific recording" problem only happens when a "visitor" would
like to listen to a particular recording, or my daughter wants to borrow
a particular cd. Usually I can find it within 30 minutes. But, it is
a major pain. Why do some folks have to be so picky?
