John Dalmas:

>IMO it's a specious argument to deny movie music any legitimacy, and
.smacks of the worst kind of intellectual snobbery.

I am here to uphold the worst kind of intellectual snobbery. (What's the
best kind?) Movie music is oft times bad music because it is manipulative
in a way that classical music is usually not. In many instances movie
Music gives you detailed instructions on what you should feel. In
addition it is oft times pretentious and overblown - Mahler without the
transcendental genius. No use denouncing me - I am smashing my computers
and moving to Neptune.
