James Tobin <[log in to unmask]> continues the discussion about
conductor Horst Stein:

>I should look this up, to be sure, but I believe he was Sibelius'
>son-in-law. The recording is a good one.

There a longish paragraph about him at:

   http://www.greatconductors.com/english/stein (original in German)

He's been active conducting major German and Swiss opera companies and
orchestras since the early 50s. Has done Parsifal and a Ring at Bayreuth
in 1969/70. Nothing there about his personal background, though.
