Piano Music of Judith Lang Zaimont to Be Performed by Young Ah Tak
at Yamaha Piano Salon in New York City on May 2

New York, NY - American composer Judith Lang Zaimont's Wizards - Three
Magic Masters will be performed by pianist Young-Ah Tak as part of her
concert on Wednesday, May 2 - 7:30 PM at the Yamaha Piano Salon, 689
Fifth Avenue (3rd floor) in Manhattan.  She will also present Haydn's
Sonata in C Major, Hob.  XVI:50, Debussy's Images, Book I and Schumann's
Carnaval, Op. 9.

Wizards, an 8 minute 30 second piece for solo piano in three movements,
was commissioned for the November 2003 San Antonio International Piano
Competition and was a required work for that competition, where it was
given 12 premiere performances.  It is published by Vivace Press, Inc.
and was recorded to great critical acclaim by Young-Ah Tak for Albany

Ms.  Tak is the Silver Medal winner at the San Antonio International
Piano Competition, where she also received 'Best Performance of a Classical
Work' award. She is also the winner of the International Corpus Christi
Young Artists' Competition, and top prize winner in numerous other
competitions including the Valsesia-Musica International Piano Competition
in Italy, the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition, the
Hilton Head International Piano Competition, the Ettlingen International
Piano Competition in Germany, the Stravinsky International Awards, and
the Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition.  More about her at

Judith Lang Zaimont is internationally recognized for her distinctive
style, characterized by its expressive strength and dynamism.  Her music
is widely performed throughout the U.S.  and Europe and has been recorded

Foundation, Albany, Jeanne, Leonarda, Northeastern, and 4Tay labels.

Elizabeth Ann Owens, flute; Joanne Polk, piano; Nanette Kaplan Solomon,
piano; and the composer herself on piano performing her superb new ragtime
