Yes, I've always thought that Stokowski's "Planets" were the best, even if
the tam-tam roll at the end of "Mars" is not (IIRC) in the score.  Although
I haven't heard it in awhile I also have memories of LS's "Verklaerte
Nacht" as one of the best--hopefully the Loeffler "Pagan Poem" that used
to accompany it on LP is also in circulation.
