As we have two good classical radio stations where I listen, I find myself
tuning in to one or the other more than I listen to my own stuff. These
stations draw on recording libraries that are huge. I could never to try
to match 'em. They offer this listener variety, change of pace, and
information relevant to the music that's played. But for purposes of close
listening, such as Don so kindly does for us, his way of handling the
problem is the correct one. (Postscript confession: quite a bit of my
radio time finds me concentrating only fitfully. But Ithat's the way I
like it.)
