Not only British conductors were favored, but also conductors with
connections and affiliations with British groups.  I was appalled at some
of the higher placing, especially the number one pick.  I sat down and came
up with some glaring ommissions, IMO:

   Gustav Mahler
   Arthur Nikisch
   Richard Strauss
   Eduard van Beinum
   Kurt Sanderling
   Riccardo Muti
   Robert Shaw
   Klaus Tennstedt
   Daniel Barenboim
   David Zinman
   Myung Whun Chung
   Kent Nagano
   Mikhail Pletnev

And I thought that the AFI lists were bad.....
