His name is Roger Covell and he seems to think of himself as a music critic
in the following article from the Sydney Morning Herald

He was also part of a 3-critic scrum (with Robert Everett-Green of the
Toronto Globe and Mail and Michael White of the "Independent on Sunday"
and BBC3) on CBC Radio 2 after Angela Hewitt's live broadcast of Bach's
Goldberg Variations.  In my opinion his views were indicative of someone
who could hear classical music very well and could transmit his views
adequately -- sounds like a music critic to me.
