Stirling Newberry writes of candidates for the Boston Symphony:

I have read in the Los Angeles Times and elsewhere that Salonen gave
$250,000 (or some such) to the new Disney symphony hall construction fund,
signalling that he intends to stay in L.A.  for awhile.  I think he is in
good shape here.
