The Cultural Center of Kazakhstan, Inc., Presents Violinist Marat
Bisengaliev in Concert at Carnegie Hall on January 31 - Portion of
Proceeds to Benefit American Red Cross International Response Fund

World-renowned violinist Marat Bisengaliev will be in concert on Monday,
January 31st, 2005, - 8 P.M at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium,
57th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.  This performance will be
presented in conjunction with the New York opening of the Cultural Center
of Kazakhstan, Inc., where Mr. Bisengaliev is Artistic Director.  A
portion of concert proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross
International Response Fund.

Pianist Alia Alhan will accompany Mr. Bisengaliev in many of the concert
selections, which will include Tartini's Sonata "Devil's Trill",
Wieniawski's "Original Theme with Variations", Milstein's "Paganiniana"
and the American Premiere of Albeniz' "Asturias", both for solo violin,
Jenkins' "Cantus Insolitus" (dedicated to the victims of the recent Asian
tsunami - World Premiere arrangement), and selections by Elgar, Rachmaninov,
Serkebayev ("Alma-Ata" - World Premiere for violin and piano), as well
as the Haydn "Sonata in G" and Amanzhol's "Inkar", both for piano solo.

The New York Times has said, "Bisengaliev plays with gravity and passionate
virtuosity, exquisite delicacy and appealing warmth".  Marat Bisengaliev
has been called "a latter-day Ysaye" by Fanfare magazine.  The New Zealand
Listener commented; 'the sensuous lyricism of Bisengaliev's Brahms is
something I will long remember.  '

A graduate of Moscow Conservatory, in recent years he has performed in
concerts and for radio and television in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the USA,
Lebanon, Poland, Germany and France.  He has appeared with the English
Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish, The Philharmonia of London, Polish Radio
National Symphony Orchestra, The Ulster Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic,
Moscow Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, English
Northern Philharmonia and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
Bisengaliev's recitals have been heard in Carnegie Hall (New York),
Wigmore Hall and Barbican (London), Bridgewater Hall (Manchester),
Waterfront (Belfast), Sheffield City Hall and the "Last Night of the
Proms" in Dublin and Leeds.  He has recorded a series of highly acclaimed
CDs for Naxos and Marco Polo.

In addition to his busy career as a virtuoso violinist, Bisengaliev is
the founder of the Uralsk Philharmonia and founder and chairman of the
Uralsk International Violin Competition.  He has received the Government
