Dear All, Can anyone recommend a recording of Zemlinsky's Lyric symphony?
I have only heard 2 versions: Chailly & Geilen. Chailly has a wonderful
recording, orchestra and soloists. However, the conducting was a little
soft-edged for me and I preferred the dramamtic insights Geilen bought to
the score. Geilen's orchestra was not as sumptuous as Chailly's. I liked
the natural placing of the soloists in both recordings and founding the
singing generally excellent.

Should I try to Sinopoli or the Maazel before deciding? All the best,
