The Wedding March we associate with the recessional is by Mendelsson, and
is from the "Incidental Music for 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'"; the one
associated with the processional is by Wagner and is from "Lohengren"
(sp.?).

I believe--although I haven't the documentation--that they were first used
thus at the wedding of one of Queen Victoria's daughters.
