Just before I fly off to England a quick "heads up" for anyone on the
list who is interested in contemporary music and/or the future directions
of opera.

On May 18 and 19, Victoria's Aventa Ensemble (www.aventa.ca) will be
giving the North American premiere (and second-ever production) of Anders
Nordentoft's remarkable On This Planet.

Thomas Sandberg, who created the central role in the original production,
will reprise it here and Nordentoft himself will probably be present.

BTW, I have no financial interest in Aventa (aside from donating money to
them).
