Ren Zhang is scheduled to perform at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
in New York ('MET') on its Accolades Series on Saturday, March 14 2009,
at 7pm. MET's artistic director and general manager Hilde Limondjian
commented: "The Metropolitan Museum has been championing young artists
for more than half a century - among the artists who have made debuts
in its series are Andras Schiff, Peter Serkin, Elly Ameling, and Cecilia
Bartoli. This season, experience the art of the piano in the hands of
two of its brightest young virtuosos..."

A graduate of Shanghai Music Conservatory and Manhattan School of
Music, Ren Zhang has appeared either as a recitalist or soloist at
many international piano series and festivals, and has won prestigious
awards both from China and the US, including the Gold Medal of the
National Young Pianist Competition in China and Shura Cherkassky award
from Artists International in New York.

Both International Piano Magazine and American Record Guide have
published rave reviews on Ren's live recordings. Music critics,
including Harris Goldsmith and David Dubal, have compared Ren's highly
personal style to that of pianistic giants of the 'Golden Age'. Ren is
frequently featured by David Dubal on his weekly program, "Reflections
from the Keyboard" on WQXR, the classical radio station of the New York
Times.

Below is Ren Zhang's program for March 14th at 7:00pm:

Haydn - Sonata in E Minor, Hob. XVI:34

Chopin - Polonaise Fantaisie in A flat Major, Opus 61;
Waltzes in F minor, Opus 70, No. 2; in D flat Major, Opus 64, No. 1;
Chopin/Godowsky-2 Waltzes

Moszkowski - Liebeswalzer, Opus 57, No. 5

Weber/Tausig - Invitation to the Dance

Schubert/Tausig - Marche Militaire

For concert schedule and tickets, please call MET at 212-570-3949, or
