It's up to you, of course.  I've found Stabler to be an eclectic
(though not especially interesting) composer, going through various
styles: Sixties and Seventies academic avant-garde, Kurt-Weillish
Expressionism, among others.  The most engaging music I've heard by him
was for the accordion, and about as far from "Lady of Spain" as one could
get.  However, I haven't heard the Metier disc.  I would imagine that 2
CDs of solo piano music by just about anyone would be a rough listen,
but that's just me.
