Chamber Players International Presents March 6 Gershwin & Friends
Concert - Internationally Renowned Pianist Mirian Conti to Perform
Gershwin Preludes, Waltzes and Other Spectacular Solo Works

On Sunday, March 6 at 12 Noon, Chamber Players International's Musical
Cuisine concert series presents a spectacular Gershwin & Friends concert
of works for solo piano, performed by the internationally renowned pianist
Mirian Conti at the deSeversky Conference Center, on the campus of New
York Institute of Technology, Northern Boulevard at West Street in Old
Westbury, New York.

This champagne brunch and performance, hosted by the renowned musicologist
and Gershwin scholar Dr.  Alicia Zizzo, will celebrate and feature this
great American composer's recently reconstructed piano music.  Highlights
will include Gershwin's preludes, waltzes and other of his original solo
works, alongside selections by Chopin, Scriabin, Granados and others.
Dr.  Zizzo will discuss the relationships between these works.

This unique program begins with a champagne brunch buffet at 12 noon
followed by the concert at 1:30 PM.  Admission is $60 per person with

Mirian Conti enjoys a growing reputation as a musician whose performances
combine technical brilliance with striking originality and artistic
insight.  Stylistically assured in a wide range of repertoire, Ms.  Conti
is considered a leading exponent of Spanish music; and her rare ability
to communicate passion and excitement when playing contemporary scores
has won the admiration of leading American and Argentine composers such
as Bowles, Broeders, Cohn, Diamond, Gould, Lees, Persichetti, Ramey,
White, Zyman, etc.  She premiered Lalo Schifrin's Piano Concerto No.2
at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles.  She was invited by
the French Cultural Center in Tangier, Morocco to perform a concert in
homage to Paul Bowles.  In recognition of her extraordinary talent, a
scholarship honoring Mirian Conti has been established at The Juilliard

Musicologist and pianist Dr.  Alicia Zizzo has been hailed for her
groundbreaking work in publications on four continents.  Working with
the Library of Congress, Warner Bros.  Publications, the Gershwin estate
and leading Gershwin scholar, the late Edward Jablonski, Zizzo researched,
studied and reconstructed the Gershwin's lost or forgotten classical
solo piano manuscripts notated in his own hand.  Warner Bros.  Publications
has published Zizzo's reconstructions of "Lullaby", "Blue Monday", "The
Complete Seven Preludes", the "Annotated Rhapsody in Blue", "the "I Got
Rhythm" Variations for piano solo and other previously unpublished
Gershwin manuscripts for solo piano.  A landmark in music scholarship
and publication, these are the first new authentic editions of George
Gershwin's classical compositions to be published in more than half a
