I hope you are right, but time will tell. I will wait and see. I want to
hear FWM's Haydn before I make any judgment. Dohnanyi has done a pretty
good job of erasing the memory of Szell. No one certainly complains that
Szell's standards and rigor have lessened under CvD. That is no small
accomplishment.
Still. . . can you trade Welser-Most and Thomas Morris for Esa-Peka
Salonen and a player to be named later?
