I suspect a more efficient question would be are there famous long-term
examples where orchestras and conductors worked together with an absense
of tension.  Even substituting "serious tension" wouldn't increase the
number that much.  There are some, of course, but if you're counting
them like sheep as you fall asleep, you might want to supplement your
effort with a sleeping pill.
