I don't hear WQXR much these days, except on summer weekends when I'm at
the Jersey shore. Still, I live in the DC area and don't hear WGMS much
more. Our local PBS flagship station, WETA, still programs more than 50%
classical, including two full hours of "Performance Today" every evening,
and they get my custom when broadcasting CM. I also miss the old WNCN,
although by the time it abandoned CM for hard rock a few years back it was
a mere shadow of its former self. And then there was WFLN from Philly
(sigh!)

But on the specific point, I'm with Walter. WGMS has dropped several
concert broadcasts over the years, gone more to "personalities," and
loaded up with commercials to the point where they seriously interfere
with listening. I'll take WQXR any day over WGMS. And WFMT in Chicago
over either or both. (Thank you, Real Audio.)

Stlll, how many cities actually have two radio stations (and a third, WBJC
in Baltimore, available through much of the DC area) whose predominant
programming is CM?
