Ian Crisp suggested that it would be more logical to name keys with "A"
being given to what we call "C" since it is the first note of the
all-white-key major scale on the piano.

I suppose it depends on what language you speak.  French [and other
latin-derived languages use ut, re, mi, fa, sol, si where we say C D E F G
A B.  Germans uses the same sequnce as English except that H rrpalces B
which is reserved for our B-flat.

Obviously the one system is keyboard related, while I guess that the
ABCDEFG is related to tuning of a different class of instruments.
