Dave Harman asks:

>How would you classify Schoenberg's "Ode to Napoleon Bonaparte" ?
>Could it be classified as a melodrama?

Or the Schoenberg piece about Jews being rounded by German soldiers and,
in a kind of defiance, singing a hymn they could barely remember. Wish
I could remember the name of the piece. Survivor from Warsaw, it may
have been.

Anyway, some years ago I attended a performance of that narrated by
Werner Klemperer, son of Otto and best known for portraying the camp
commandant in Hogan's Heros. I thought that the choice of Klemperer
was in very poor taste. My Jewish friends shrugged it off, however.

Richard
