Thanks, John, for reporting that the first manuscript of the Third is
indeed extant.  This is (to me) exciting news.  Has anyone identified the
Wagner quotations and where in the symphony they occur? It was reported
earlier on this thread that the final movement of the symphony in this
manuscript was in sketch form only.  If so, what version of the movement
is used in the Norrington and Inbal recordings?
