Could you elaborate.  The music most associated with transformation would
appear to be the Strauss, used right at the end as the dying Bowman
metamorphoses into the "star child".

Ligeti's Lux Aeterna was used for the exterior shots when the group was
voyaging from Tycho base to TMA-1 (aka the monolith), the Dies Irae from
the Requiem at the two moments when the sun illuminates the monolith - on
the moon, which causes it to emit the radio transmission to Jupiter, and in
orbit around Jupiter, when Bowman approaches it in the Pod and enters the
star gate.  The trip through is accompanied by Adventures.
