The great and good Flicka has now responded to my brilliant suggestion that
she would make a splendid Frau Generaldirektor for the San Francisco Opera
(between Oliva Stapp's company in Walnut Creek and Irene Dallis' in San
Jose).

Oh dear, she said, "I can't even keep my checkbook balanced!"

While I don't think that's a problem (neither K.H. Adler nor Terence
McEwen was in the book-balancing business), and Flicka is still *my*
candidate to replace the thrifty Lotfi Mansouri, the claim of fiscal
ignorance (from a banker's wife!) should well qualify Flicka for other
offices:

* Senator from New York?
* President of the United States?

We'll open campaign offices on Monday.  Contributions should be mailed
written on opera fans (the object, the not the person).
