The news of Maestro Tintner's death shook me.  I immediately emailed his
wife, Tanya, and expressed my regrets.  She told me that one of Georg's
favorite reviews was mine of his recording of Bruckner's 4th, which
includes an echat with him.  Ironically, I await the recording of the
Ninth by this great man.  He asked me not to address him as Maestro, but
