Donald Scarinci asks:

>Is there a composer that I should look for when I check out Berlioz?

Try the conductors Colin Davis and especially Charles Munch, my favorite
Berlioz conductor, with several classic recordings: Overtures, Requiem,
and L'Enfance du Christ, Romeo et Juliette, Symphonie fantastique, Harold
en Italie - all originally on RCA.
