Art Scott's inagural post addresses vibrato, over-vibrato,
constant-vibrato...

I'm with ya, Art. I think color is great, but when I can't tell which
note is being played/sung for the vibrato I lose interest (center it
people, center!). Especially with singers, who sometimes seem more
concerned with "good vibrato" than the words OR music. It does seem to
me to be getting a little better with string players in general; that is
to say, hypervibrato in solo strings may be going out of style? Just a
personal observation.

Don't even start me on flutes.
