I asked this question once and have fogotten the answer other than that I
believe it was a French variant on "amour" or "aimer".  I apparently didn't
get the information on this list, or else I'm not good at working search
engines, or both, as I tried checking it on this list's Web site under
"parsifal and wife" and "lohengrin and mother" going back to 1 January 1994
and couldn't find anything.
