The 1970s version.  I found his more recent version did not have quite the
sparkle of the earlier one.  However, it's still mighty good.

The newer sets tend to provide greater maturity and depth, the older ones
a sense of greater discovery and verve.  I don't uniformly prefer the more
youthful interpretations, but that's the case with D.  959.  Concerning
Beethoven's opus 2 sonatas, I like best Brendel's recordings on Vox.
