American Chamber Ensemble In Concert At Weill Recital Hall On March 4
On Saturday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m., the American Chamber Ensemble will
perform a diverse program of contemporary and standard repertoire works
at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, 154 West 57th Street in Manhattan.
The concert, presented by MidAmerica Productions, features Irwin Swack's
Profiles for clarinet, violin and cello, the World Premiere of Joelle
Wallach's After Alcyon's Dream for clarinet, viola and piano, Brahms'
Sonata in e minor for cello and piano, David Diamond's Quintet for flute,
violin, viola, cello and piano and the New York Premiere of Benjamin
Lees' Tapestry for flute, clarinet, cello and piano.  The Lees work was
written as a special 40th anniversary commission for the American Chamber
Ensemble.

Performers for this concert will be ACE directors Blanche Abram (piano)
and Naomi Drucker (clarinet), with ACE core members pianist Marilyn
Sherman Lehman, violinists Eriko Sato and Deborah Wong, violist Lois
Martin and cellist Chris Finckel.  Guest performers will include Michael
Finckel, cello and Patricia Spencer, flute.
