Didactic Piano

Senior Music syllabus has been present in my studies and resume through
the three specialisations of general objectives builts on the 'experience
of music': Composition, Musicology and Performance.  In order to get it
I have taken advantage of investigation, analysis, realising and audiation.

This album holds complete current minimum academic requirements for the
didactic program in musical courses of piano, from the beginning of a
novice, intermediate & advanced players to the high level of a concert
pianist. A newfangled book for the original methodology in a graded
progressive system with works worthy to perform them in live.

The collection consists of a selection of pieces or works for piano
that I have been composing during several years and belongs to CDs like
"ParaIsa", "Water Drops", "Celta" and "XI Century".  I have created other
compositions specifically to complete a method or program that embraces
all the grades, from the 1st to the 8th plus those of specialization of
the instrument or virtuosity, in the international standard pattern of
official or academic courses.  In these works I have included the fingering
like element of aid for their performance.  All the pieces are oriented
to diverse age groups.

This is not a sight reading book but is thought to get play.  The works
are classified in sequence of increasing levels, valuing the need for
precision, accuracy, proficiency and mastery of technique:

[The 'tempi' (speed), indicated at the beginning of every piece, are the
objective to play.  However, in the learning process is possible to
execute their with other beats.]

 -  Grade 1st - "Fairy Tale", is a piece of preparatory piano with
complete musical sense and barcarolle rhythm. In "Little Red Riding
Hood", we found new features as is to make one tune with an
accompaniment in the bass clef with the two hands to look for a greater
depth in the serious voice. The well-known "Minuet in G by J. S. Bach"
('urtext' edition), is including in this collection by its suitable
application for the initiation.

 -  Grade 2nd - "Cradle Song", is a smooth vals that introduces the use
of the right pedal. "Aria Opera Cobo", very songful in Db major (with 5
flats in the key signature) that constitutes a musical wager for a
second advanced degree.

 -  Grade 3rd - "Vidalita of the Uruguayan Hill. 1. Our feeling", in Eb
minor is conceived so that the utilization of both pedals gives more
depth and tenderness to this piece. "Vals n. 4", vals with the same
resource that appears in the left hand of "Cradle Song" besides octaves
in the right. "Blooming", it is a brief piece incorporating semiquavers
to the melody and the accompaniment as well as tuplets. "Noon", a melody
with a natural simplicity and an internal beat of contrast and
complement. Although the left hand begins to have relevance, very
important issue in this method, is in the capacity of the student to
read in its greater exactitude or to reduce it, that is to say, to
summarize it with the notes most fundamental to ensure its execution.
"Spanish Horizon", is a very Spanish piece, as its name indicates, with
flamenco sense by the use of the Andalusian cadence.

 -  Grade 4th - "Vidalita of the Uruguayan Hill. 2", in A minor, sad
piano song as they are these Uruguayan tunes and at the same time
expressing a beautiful sensation influenced by the story of an emigrant.
"Feelings vain", apparently without technical difficulties gathers a
great interpretative load. "Defined Solea", flamenco piece in =BE with
the internal Solea's accents (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 1 2). "In the
twilight", of melodic line sung and slow tempo, the coordination of both
hands can be played with some soundness. This composition contains a
relation between Naples and South America.

 -  Grade 5th - "Astral Vals", is constructed to four voices where the
melody is predominating. "Sonate in D" by Father Antonio Soler
(edition/revision by Alberto Cobo), the most well-known sonata of the
composer from 'El Escorial' - with the supplement of ornaments and
fingering - by its great artistic value in addition to the excellent
formal structure of sonata in one movement A-B of 18th century.

 -  Grade 6th - "Celta 14", belongs to the album "Celta" and is inspired
by the Spanish musical tradition. In the repetitions is possible to
develop new ornaments, cadences or 'fermatas' according to the good
taste and criterion of the performer. "PianoMan" (from "Water Drops"),
is constituted with a special beginning. "Die of love" (from "Water
Drops"), has operatic connotations, of Aria. "ParaIsa Var. 30" (from
"ParaIsa"), is a very expressive piece with the left hand acting like
quasi-secondary voice, and "Base rap", in the present modern contour of
a very peculiar rhythm.

 -  Grade 7th - "Project man" (from "Water Drops"), harmoniously
conducted by the sonority. "Raining in Paris" (from "Water Drops"),
combination of two parts, rhythmical and melodic. "Water Drops" (from
"Water Drops"), needs a shallow and aerial piano technique to obtain the
desired effect. "Gotamedium in Paradise" (from "Water Drops"),
simultaneously develops an important work in the left hand like basis
and reinforcement for the notes of the treble clef, and vice versa at
the end. In the central part appears a rhythmical change inspired by the
Cuban's "tumbao".

 -  Grade 8th - "Christ's first words" (from "Water Drops"), is a
compound of arpeggios interchanging both hands and singing notes.
"Pressure" (from "Water Drops"), with a melodious line, comes until this
level by the hardship in the execution of chords jumping in both hands
of any measures. In "CXrystalline" (from "Water Drops") different types
of resources and groups of notes are combined, sometimes in counterpoint
form.

 -  Grade of virtuosity. - "Atlantis' life", work thought under the
influence of the flamenco's buleria. "The Atlantis formation", concert
work of wide extension and sonorities displaying elements that must be
interpreted with the suitable technique in benefit of the musical
expression.

 -  Chamber music. - "Vidalita of the Uruguayan Hill. 3", score for
soprano and piano conceived considering the original lyrics of Antonio
Caetano.


Definitely, a single book of piano sheet music that also can be himself
the first graded method of piano elaborated almost with own works by a
Spanish composer for the attainment of the highest level in Master of
Music in Music Performance (piano) Degree.  It can also serve as, support
and complement to students in their official and/or regulated studies,
use and enjoyment for amateurs, teachers, pianists, to even begin in
this marvelous instrument.
