Pianist Valentin Surif to Perform December 8 Concert of Argentinean
Masterworks at London Ginastera Festival

Buenos Aires-based pianist Valentin Surif will present a concert of
Argentinean masterworks on Friday, December 8 - 7:30 PM at Bolivar Hall,
54 Grafton Way in London, England.

Reperotire for this concert will be three works by Alberto Williams: The
Shady Hill Op 32 No 1, Berceuse Op 47 No 1 and Poem of the Night (Bells
in the Night, Moonlight Halo, Still Night and Stormy Clouds), Juan Angel
Ciurleo's Three Tangos Op 14, Alicia Terzian: Buenos Aires me vas a matar
('Buenos Aires you are going to kill me') for piano and tape and three
works by Alberto Ginastera: Rondo on Argentine Children's Folk Tunes Op
19, Malambo Op 7 and Sonata No 3 Op 54.  Valentin Surif has carried out
special research into, and made recordings of, the works of these and
other Argentine composers.  Actors appearing in Alicia Terzian's work
will be Omar Sanchez Camarena & Freddy Wichert.

This concert is being presented as part of the Ginastera Festival 2006.

Valentin Surif regularly performs for the Argentine Association of
Composers, Internacional Encounters of Contemporary Music, Festival of
the Americas, Trimalca, Liszt Festival, Chopin Festival and many others.
He participated in Taormina Festival (Italy), Music in Santiago de
Compostela (Spain), Festival 'A Tempo' (Venezuela), Argentine Festival
in Fort Lauderdale (USA), Eisteddfod(South Africa), Chopin Festival
(Argentina)and invited by Carlo Zecchi to the Salzburg Festival, among
others.  He also performed in the U.S., Honduras, Guatemala, Portugal,
Nigeria Tunisia, Brazil, Spain, France and Mexico through the Cultural
Department of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  He was invited
to perform as a soloist with the Philarmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires
on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the creation of the Argentine
Association of Composers.  He was awarded the 1995 Great Prize for best
classical interpreter by SADAIC(Argentine Society of Composers).  Valentin
Surif has recorded for Naxos, (the complete piano works of Alberto
Williams) and IRCO for the series 'Panorama of Argentine Music' (under
the sponsorship of the National Fund for the Arts, Argentine Council of
Music and Argentine Publisher of Composers).  He also recorded other CDs
of sonatas and pother masterworks by great Argentine composers.  Visit
