 From http://www.operasj.org/performance.html --

Opera San Jose presents the premiere a new opera by Texas-born
composer Craig Bohmler, whose musical Enter the Guardsman won 1997's
"Best Musical of the Year" in Denmark and was nominated in 1998 for
London's "Best Musical of the Year." Bohmler and librettist Daniel
Helfgot have given us an operatic version of Candyland, where
nutcrackers become princes and young women must make grown-up choices.
A magical nutcracker may have lured Marie from home, but her heart
has found its way back, and to a more lasting happiness.
