Donald Satz asked about Haydn string quartet recordings, after mentioning several more or less complete projects::

>Are there other complete sets?

Yesterday, I received from Georgsmarienhutte, a 21-CD-set with the Angeles
Quartet. They have recorded all the authentic quartets (that is, they
have omitted a number of opus 1, 2 and 3 quartets). Furthermore, they have
omitted the Seven Last Words, probably because these works are not quartet
compositions in their original form.

Philips 464 650-2. 239,95 DM.

By the way - I like many of the Kodaly recordings quite well. At about 180
DM, I think they ARE a bargain ...

Regards,
Michael
