I can't say I was one of them, but I did play Don Givovanni under Lane
him many years ago.  Sadly, it was the year Szell died.  Szell must have
passed in the summer, because it was a summer opera company, and I recall
Lane having to leave when it happened.  At least that is how I remember
it. For what it's worth.

Funny the things you remember out of the blue.
