Steve reviewed:

>Richard Strauss:
>Man, Musician, Enigma
>
>Michael Kennedy
>Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 1999.
>ISBN-10: 0521027748
>ISBN-13: 9780521027748

This should probably be off list, but what the hell.

Besides being a very informative review, this came at a good time for
me. I've read Kennedy's Barbirolli and Elgar bios and wondered how he'd
fare writing about non-Anglican figures, particularly Strauss. I love
Strauss' music and have long meant to read Del Mar but kept putting it
off. Meanwhile I wondered about Kennedy, particularly because he's such
a fine writer.

My questions are answered. Time to pick up the book. Thanks, Steve.
