Thanks, Steve.  (Just got to this--I think the question was even further
back).  Solti took risks.  One of the least satisfying performances of
anything I ever heard was a live performance of Solti and the CSO doing the
Schubert Great C Major Symphony.  It dragged.  And draaagged.  And that's
just the first movement.  I thought it would never end.  (But a friend of
mine liked it!)

I think I have exactly one Dutoit recording.  Maybe I'll just keep it
that way.
