We are happy to announce the next "International Masterclass for Orchestral
Conducting" under the direction of Konrad von Abel.

This course is not only for conductors but for anyone seeking a gateway
to the intrinsic laws of music.  It is based on Sergiu Celibidache's
"Phenomenology and Music".  Konrad von Abel was the artistic assistant
to Sergiu Celibidache at the Munich Philharmonic for more than 10 years.

August 23 - September 5, 2008

Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia

THE CLASS
The class will be held in English.
There will be accepted a maximum of 12 active participants.
The number of audience members is not limited.
Next week there will be provided a video on our website www.musikmph.de to
get some impressions about the Masterclass with Konrad von Abel in summer
2007.

The class will be divided in 2 stages:

Stage I
(23 a=80' 29 August)
General aspects of the teachings of Sergiu Celibidache on =C2=ABMusical
Phenomenology=C2=BB. Discovering the natural arma=80=99s weight in conducting as th=
e
foundation for communicating univocal musical impulses. Piano exercises and
string quartet work covering the course repertoire

Stage II
(31 August - 5 September)
All active participants will work with the orchestra for a total of five
hours daily.

W. A. Mozart, Symphony No. 40 in g minor KV 550 (with clarinets)

D. Milhaud, Saudades do Brasil (Overt., 1, 4, 5, 8, 11, 12)
