Mainly with my wife's enjoyment in mind, I rented and we watched "Stepmom"
with Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. In the opening credits I see "music
by John Williams." So, I was going to pay particular attention to his
score.

I wish I hadn't. It was the usual mismash of heart tugging glop which I
can't deny was in sync with the story's unfolding. Is this music and the
score for the Star Wars movie the best Williams has to offer? One positive
note: The music for "Stepmom" was better than the movie itself.
