Speaking of Liszt's music, there is a non overblown, structurally
sound version of the Faust Symphony generally available on various cheap,
obscure labels (possibly a pirate, but I'll not ask too many questions
or delve too deeply into that). It is conducted by Jascha Horenstein
with Ferdinand Koch, the Southwest German Radio Choir of Stuttgart &
the Southwest Radio Orchestra of Baden - Baden. Perhaps it is also a
Brilliant Classics release?
